New distorted ads from Sony + Honda

A couple of new pieces of work from 2 agencies that I really admire. Can’t decide about these. What do you think?

Both directed by Frank Budgen.

Would love to know your thoughts.

Disney’s The Black Hole: End Sequence

Wow. I was pretty creeped out watching this sequence again. I don’t think I’ve really took it all in when I was a kid.

Reinhardt ends up trapped and enslaved inside the robot he created. Powerless and immobile. Maximilian with his limbs extended looks like a horned devil figure stood upon the mountain. Surrounded by skeletons wearing black hooded capes as the crew ascend through a corridor of light.

Classic Christian imagery, plus a fantastic music score from John Barry.

Powerful stuff from Disney.

adidas Originals – Star Wars™ Cantina 2010

Sure the link is tenuous between Star Wars and adidas – but it’s nicely done and worth a look. I’ve watched it a few times trying to find to new sequences, effects shots, and joins.

A full list of the stars featuring is listed in the tags for the video:

David Beckham Daft Punk Snoop Dogg Franz Beckenbauer Noel Gallagher Ian Brown Ciara Jay Baruchel DJ Neil Armstrong Obi-Wan Kenobi Han Solo Cantina Greedo C-3PO R2-D2.

Dan Calladine also spotted that adidas are allowed to use the terms ‘FIFA’ and ‘World Cup’, unlike Nike. So overall this must’ve cost them quite a few quid..!!

This is really doing the rounds at the moment, so sorry if this is the 10th time you’ve seen it – but I like it.
